Zigzag redux

Hello and welcome!
I enjoyed making my blue and white zig zag quilt so much I have decided to make it again, in a new color.
Source of my pattern: Red and white quilts.  And it's complex enough that I am staring at the instructions constantly.  I did my first one in indigo and cream - shown in this blog post.

Well the results were dynamic and graphic.  Why not make it again in red and cream?  Or using an antiqued fabric that I had ordered by accident? (Wrong color picked on line, and can't return cut yardage.)
So off to the quilt area ("studio") to cut strips of red and antique fabrics.  This is my progress so far:

And a close up of the red fabrics:

I have used reproduction red fabrics, mostly from 1860 - 1900 styles.  I want that old look.  This photo also shows the look of the antiqued background fabric.  I thought it a little dark but it works well against the red.

Wowsers! I love your red zigzag quilt! I agree that the antique background is perfect with your reds.

I believe you could make one of these quilts in any color and it would look fabulous!!

Love your quilt in progress! I recognize some of those reds! Did you raid my stash? lol How wide are your strips cut? Just wondering how small the blocks are
