Tuesday Quilt Block March 31

The fabric Barbara Brackman featured last week was purples.  This is the eleventh week of this series.  Below are the two that I made.  I'm having fun looking over my stash for the focus fabrics and shirting fabrics for the background.

I am linking up with Connie at Freemotion by the River and Quilt Story as I do most weeks I have blocks to share. Both blog hops have pictures of pretty quilt blocks and other projects. I am also joining Work in Progress Wednesday - some colorful and interesting projects there!

Tuesday Quilt block March 24

My how March is flying by!
This past week's fabric for Stars in a Time Warp was green calicoes.  I love these, and collect both those with touches of yellow in them, and those fabrics that have a small black print on green.

And another one:

Tuesday Quilt block March 17

I am running late today! And our local area network (our house) had lousy internet connection this AM.

The fabric for this past week was chrome yellow.

I have almost this exact fabric in an antique quilt from South Dakota.  the only difference between the real thing and the reproduction above is that the motif is aligned parallel to the grain of the fabric, and the repro has it on the diagonal.  Clever!

This second block will not iron flat.  Maybe it will quilt out.

Tuesday quilt block March 10

I am sorry to miss last week - so I have a number of quilt blocks to post today.
I am continuing on the stars in a time warp series led by Barbara Brackman.  It is so fun to learn more about these fabrics from an expert, and go through my stash to find the appropriate fabrics.

First up: double pink:

and a second one:

I loved working with these pinks (and I have many in my stash, as I buy them whenever I see them) that I have started a second project, a series of 4 inch stars, all in different double pink fabrics.

I realize now that the prints I used for chrome orange are probably madder style instead.  Oh well, I never was a fan of orange.

Lastly for this week, early indigo blue.

Yes that top star is a very dark blue, although the scan makes it look black.  These are the simplest indigo blue fabrics in my collection.  I am glad I have such a big collection now!
