Wednesday: A new top

Hello and long time no see!  I have been on vacation and at a conference so no time to sew.  I am back and I have been in the sewing room this week.
The task:  use up 3 inch squares of leftover and unloved fabric to make a small top, using a pattern I have used before, from the Scraps Plus One book.

The blocks finish at 15 inches, and the quilt top is 60 inches square.

Two different blocks are made, and set in alternating fashion.   A close up of the unloved fabric:

I admit I cut some good fabric to add in there, to liven it up.  Some fabric is from old stash however.
The top will languish for now, as I have started cutting for a new project (of course!)  Red and beige strips for another zig zag quilt.

Linking up with Let's Bee Social, Midweek Makers, Can I get a Whoop Whoop, Nina-MarieFinished or Not at Busy Hands quilts, Oh Scrap at Quilting is more Fun than Housework.

Those blocks look great for using up 3 inch squares! I have a pile of those that I could do the same with - thanks for the inspiration!

Great scrappy quilt top. I can understand using the pattern several times.

Your quilt top looks great. I love the way a scrappy quilt can absorb our least favourite fabrics and make them look great! :-)

I want to make this pattern sometime. It looks so nice and a great way to use up older fabrics. Happy Stitching!

Oh! I've got some 9-Patch blocks in a baggie waiting for the perfect setting. This may be just the one! Not SEW complicated, but highly effective! Thanks for sharing and congrats on getting your quilt top together.

Great quilt design for those unloved fabrics. Don't let them languish too long. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
