Time for a Jane Triangle!

Hello and welcome!
Please see dearjane.com for more explanation of the 1863 quilt I am slowly reproducing in blue and white.
Triangles for the border finish at 5 by 8 inches.  Once you start, it's a commitment!

This triangle is on the right side, 4th one down, as the quilt is displayed on the cover of the Dear Jane book.  I had fun with the striped fabric - really making it look like a folded ribbon.

Friday Finish Feb. 23

Hello and welcome!
Please see dearjane.com for more explanation of the 1863 quilt I am slowly reproducing in blue and white.
This block had some paper piecing and some applique.

This is F-12 or Starburst.  The main body of the block is paper pieced, then the four blue triangles are appliqued on.  It's the easiest way I think to give you that Maltese cross pattern.

Tuesday block Feb. 20

Hello and welcome!
Please see DearJane.com for more explanation of the 1863 quilt I am slowly reproducing in blue and white.
Here is a block I finished last week, dipping into the middle of the Jane Stickle quilt:

This is E-8.  Paper piecing of smallish pieces but not too bad. Indigo fabric, not black.

Friday Finish Feb. 16

Well it is a finish of a block, not of a quilt project.
Still counts, for me!!!

Here is M-1, of the Dear Jane project I currently have going:

One piece is a little wonky, I know.  But "finished is better than perfect."

I am on vacation in Florida this week.  I of course checked out the local quilt stores, and bought some fabric, including some more indigo fabric for this project.

Tuesday Quilt block Feb. 13

I am on vacation and have a spotty internet connection. So just a quick post of a completed quilt block.

B-6, a bit complicated with the small pieces but straightforward enough with paper piecing.

Friday Finish Feb. 9

Hello and welcome!
Please see www.DearJane.com for more explanation of the 1863 quilt I am slowly reproducing in blue and white.
I just finished this block last night.

This is block E-12.  Paper piecing and then assembly of the various parts.  That is a very dark blue fabric, not black.
I am averaging about one block per day.  Remember these blocks finish at 4.5 inches square.

Tuesday quilt block Feb. 6

Good morning, or should I say good day? In any case you are welcome to my blog.
I am puttering along on Indigo and white Jane Stickle project.  The block of the week on the Facebook group I follow is B-5.  Here is mine:

Those diamonds look so sharp because I pieced the blue fabric around them.  Another way to make this block is to applique the diamonds onto the blue fabric.  I did not think I could do this and get sharp points. So paper piecing it is.  Block # 77 on the list!

Friday finish Feb. 2

Hello and welcome!
I am still puttering along on my Jane Stickle blocks.  Please see www.DearJane.com for more explanation of the 1863 quilt I am slowly reproducing in blue and white.
Dipping into row K for this one:

K-2 or Grandpa's Chickens.  I used paper piecing for this block, even though strip piecing and cross cutting might be more straightforward.  That fabric is a very deep indigo, not black!
