Hello and welcome to my blog, where I try to post weekly.
No finish, but I am so close! I am hand binding my double wedding ring quilt, which I spent much of the last 6 months hand quilting. I am using single fold bias binding (to get around those curves) and I have to hand sew it down on the front and the back. I have made it around 3.5 sides of the quilt and have only a few scallops to do.
A portion of the finished binding. I hope to report a finish early next week.

The New start is done!
Feeling sad as my Aunt Helen passed away this week.
The new start I described in a previous post is now done.
The pattern is called Arkansas crossroads. As you can see I added a thin white inner border, a wider peach border (30's reproduction fabric), and bound it with the same fabric. I was able to use up some left over backing fabric from a previous quilt - just a bit of piecing to make it wide enough. Batting was from a craft bat I found at a thrift store (still packaged). This little quilt is now 32 by 44 inches, an odd size. I don't have any current plans for it. But a UFO is prevented!

New Start, a top
Hello and welcome to my blog!
I got a book out of the library and I just had to try the pattern for the quilt on the cover.
In reproduction 30's fabrics. I have a lot of those!!
Instead of 12 blocks I have made 6 blocks. It comes out as a funny small size - maybe a baby quilt, maybe a doll quilt or wall hanging. It is now 36 by 24 inches but I will add a white inner border and then a print outer border. I like the way this looks but I have had enough of cutting 2 inch squares.

Tuesday Quilt: Off to the long-armer!
Hello and welcome.
I am getting spotty internet on our home network so I am making this quick.
I have a feedsack quilt top that I thought about quilting myself:
This is made from new off white fabric and feedsacks I have collected myself or bought off ebay.
But, the top is 80 inches by 80 inches, hard to push through my machine, and my tension seems to be off when I machine quilt. Or I get tucks on the front. So it is off to the local long arm quilter that I use - who does a very nice job indeed.
Close up of the quilt:
Some of those feedsacks may be 'ugly' but it all comes together and looks authentic - as opposed to when you use all 'pretty' fabric.
To be even more authentic, i am using feedsacks on the back:
At an antique fair I was lucky enough to find 4 feedsacks of the same pattern. When I realized this would be a bit short I started looking on ebay and was even luckier to find a 5th feedsack of the same design! A pieced back it is!
