Take this Tune: Love of Place

Or, if you want to see Paul (The cute Beatle) singing:

Fairweather at Take this Tune has the theme this week of Love of Place.
The Mull of Kintyre is a peninsula on the southern west coast of Scotland. It is where Paul McCartney has had a farm for many years. To me, this song truly embodies the love of a certain place.
Here are some of the lyrics.

Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire, is always to be here, Oh Mull of Kintyre.

Sweep through the heather, like deer in the glen,
Carry me back to the days I knew then
Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir
Of the life and the time of the Mull of Kintyre.
(Refrain)
Smiles in the sunshine and tears in the rain
Still take be back where my memories remain
Flickering embers grow higher and higher
As they carry me back to the Mull of Kintyre.
(Refrain)

Viridian

Mull of Kintyre is one of most beautiful folk songs. McCartney with the bagpipes is great. Another version I really like is by Celtic Thunder version.
