Hamilton Gardens: More quilty progress

Hello and welcome to my quilting blog.

Today I am reporting on progress on my current project, Bonnie Hunter's pattern Hamilton Gardens.  You know it's true what they say, after retirement things fill your days, and you don't have as much time for hobbies as you think you would have.

So I have been blogging on this project for a few weeks.  It's a way for me to keep track of my progress.

Start of the project discussed HERE.

Some progress discussed HERE.

And where we are today:

Blocks are set on point, so you assemble diagonal rows of blocks.  Note white background fabric triangles at top and sides.

A close up:

I have used 30's reproduction fabrics for this quilt project.

And you know what happened?  I counted and recounted my blocks, and still ended up short one!  I am piecing it, then continuing with my assembly.

Linking up with Monday MusingsSew and Tell at Melva Loves Scraps, Wednesday Wait Loss, Needle and Thread Thursday, Put your Foot Down at the Quiltery, Nina-Marie, Finished or Not at Alycia Quilts, From Bolt to Beauty, Oh Scrap at Quilting is more Fun than Housework.

I have a page on Facebook: keep up with my infrequent quilt and stamp posts at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Viridian61/347674418583948?ref=hl

There is something beautiful about scrappy quilts. And something even more special about the use of 1930's reproduction fabrics that speak comfort to me. Thanks for sharing with us in Sew & Tell.

I hope there aren't too many more blocks that you will need to make. The flimsy is coming together beautifully!

Just the one block. Update: the top is together, lays flat, and looks great.

This quilt is looking beautiful! You'll find the missing block after the flimsy is completed, I speak from experience. Happy stitching!

What a wonderfully dramatic pattern! It looks great with the 30s fabrics. Perfectly scrappy!

This is beautiful, Viridian and very peaceful to view! I love 30s reproduction fabric. I'm sure you'll find your other block...after you finish piecing the new one - at least that is the way it is with me! Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!
