Cups and Saucers project advances to a top

Good day, and welcome to my blog.  It's a warm morning in the American Midwest.

I am reporting today on progress on my Cups and Saucers project.   The pattern is found HERE on Patchworksquare.  Great instructions, usually instructions for several sizes given.

The overall top (minus borders) looks like this:

And some closer views of the blocks, in feedsack fabrics and vintage fabrics:

Each block here finishes at 12 inches square.  A constant background fabric of Kona Snow was used.  Do I need a border?  I will think about that.

What a pretty quilt! It'll be interesting to see if you add borders and what fabric you use. Can't wait to see the finish! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

What a nice way to use vintage and vintage-ish prints. The pattern is also called the Illinois block. The first ALA silent auction quilt our group made was a "block for your state" sampler and I used that one.

Interesting! I did not know this block had another name.

Ooh, Viridian, your Cups and Saucers is gorgeous! Perfect pattern for those beautiful prints. Kona Snow is one of my favorite background fabrics, too.

Cups and Saucers. I don't recall ever seeing that name for a block, yet I do recognize the block. And I really like it, too! I am always on the lookout for blocks I've never made before, and this is one of them. I will remember for future reference! Found you at Oh Scrap! :-)
