Good day and welcome to my blog.
I have an older top, from 2019, that is now quilted by the long arm lady I use, bound by me, and finished.
It is a simple brick work pattern, and the fabric pieces are 3 by 9 inches finished.
Start of the project is described in this Blog Post.
Leftovers and well, lots of fabric I wanted to use up are in this quilt.
-- leftovers from Halloween and Christmas quilts
-- really old stash (from the 1990's) for borders and binding
-- ugly, 'what was I thinking?' fabric
-- fabric bought online that was not the color I was expecting
-- fat quarters bought in a bundle that are a bit ugly, that I need to use up
-- fabric for watercolor quilts (remember those?)
-- some yellow fabrics to brighten up the top.
It is 72 by 89 inches and has a plain back and thin cotton batting. Binding is the same fabric that I used for the outer border. Thank goodness I saved that green fabric.
A close-up:
No home for this one, but it is done.

If a piece of fabric is ugly, you haven't cut it small enough. ;) At least that is what Bonnie Hunter says. The yellow offers the perfect pop to the top. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
What a great way to use up your stash! Congrats on finishing a long ago project. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Wish I could afford to long arm. Sandwiching and quilting is what holds me up from finishing any quilt in a timely manner.
Loving your "Brickwork" quilt--so nice to not have to match up seams every long row...Lovely finish, :)))

Well, ugly fabric for one will be pretty for another, and cut into small pieces they all look great together! I love the yellow and orange accents, your quilt turns out beautifully. Thank you for sharing how to use old stash and linking up.
Great finish, Viridian. I know you are happy it is done, even if it doesn't have a home...yet!! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week.
All those uglies sure stitched up into a beauty! What a great finish!
Its kind of a memory quilt of all the leftovers. and I like it!
