Good day and welcome to my blog of quilty things.
This past week I picked up a project I started in Feb. 2025 - a set of log cabin blocks. I used what I had available: mostly civil war reproduction fabrics but also leftovers from other projects. Therefore, the title, Anything Goes.
Start of project is described HERE.
The blocks finish at 10 inches square and my top now looks like this:
About 50 by 70 inches in size, plus a narrow border.
A close up:
And I am getting smarter: I cut, pressed, and rolled the binding for this quilt.
It will have a label in that baggie too. What project, size of project, length of binding, and date.
P.S. I saw this in a local used bookstore, in the quilting and crafts section:
Quilting is not for the weak!

Beautiful log cabin block. And, I had a chuckle over the spineless quilt books. But I knew exactly what they were talking about. Smart move to make the binding once the top is finished. I may have to try that!
Lovely Log Cabin--such great colors..nice work Hugs, Julierose
Love your log cabin, it reminds me I have a LC UFO I need to pull out.
Such a lovely scrappy project! Congrats on a great finish. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Wow! Log cabin blocks are so dynamic when stitched together! I love your layout. So wise of you to have your binding cut. I try to do that too.
Any definitely does go! Your log cabin fabrics look great all together. I chuckled at the spineless quilting books 🤣
Beautiful log cabin quilt, Viridian. Log Cabin is one of my favorite blocks. Cute meme at the end! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week.
I absolutely adore log cabin quilts. There are so many other types of quilts that I want to make, but seeing this one has me itching to make another log cabin. I love the fabrics that you used.
who doesn't love a Log Cabin! Especially in those lovely dark jewel tones. Quilting is not for the timid! LOL
Pretty Log Cabin blocks, it's great to finish an UFO! Great use of scraps too, I love the name of this quilt ;) Storing the binding with the flimsy is a very good idea, I know some quilters also add the backing. I know it would help me to get things done more quickly ;) Thank you for sharing and linking up!
Log Cabins are a favourite of mine and yours here is beautiful. What a wonderful finish!
