Crayon Box quilt finished

It's Wednesday, so it must be time to blog!
Hello and welcome.
I have a finish to report.  It's of a top I made in 2018, as part of a challenge to use up a slew of 2 inch strips of 30's reproduction fabrics.  It is the crayon box pattern by Bonnie Hunter, found on her blog under free patterns.  Her directions are for 2.5 inch strips, so I resized it for 2 inch strips.
I sent it off to a local long arm quilter to have it quilted - it's a pretty hefty size and I did not look forward to shoving it under my old but trusty Kenmore.
Quilted and laid out on the design floor:

And a close up of the border, using very vintage yardage, an early Aunt Grace fabric:

Bound with the same border fabric.  No home for this one, yet.

Idaho Square Dance top is finished

Finally some progress!  I worked hard on this over the weekend.  Lots of navy blue in my stash.  I held back some one yard pieces for borders.  Pieced to get the length needed of course but that is all right.
Final size with borders:  about 72 by 92 inches, so a good twin size.

And I dropped it off with the long arm quilter yesterday.  She is going to get it done before Christmas!  I have plans to give it to a family member.

Idaho Square dance comes together

Just a short note today.  I have made some more Idaho Square Dance blocks, so that the set will be 5 by 7 blocks on point, and a border added.
I have started assembling the blocks with alternating navy blue squares (7 inches finished).  In the photo they are laid out on my "Design floor", with dark carpet.

I am liking the way this is turning out, and already thinking of quilting possibilities.

Idaho Square Dance continues

Hello and welcome, to an update on my new start.
My last post was about starting Idaho Square Dance blocks, from Bonnie Hunter's book.  I have now made some blocks, and set them out on point, on our dark carpet:

I am trying to gauge the effect of dark navy blue blocks in between the pieced blocks.  I think it will make the white bits sparkle.  The blocks finish at 7 inches so I have a ways to go!
And a close up:

But I must end my blog entry, as I have a bad cold and I am wearing out.
