Tidepools project now quilted and bound

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I have a finish to report - Tidepools, based on a pattern by Scott Flangan.  He calls the pattern Plateau.

The start of the project is described HERE.

A finished top is described HERE.

The top looks like this:

I bound the quilt with binding that's the same fabric as the outer border, and top stitched it with olive green thread, which looks kind of gray:

Here is a corner:

As for my last post and last project, I am a bit disappointed in the long arm quilting.  The top tension is off, and the bottom thread is pulled up, especially where the quilting changes directions.  See the blue arrows in the picture below (I know, hard to make out - click on the picture to enlarge).

But it is done and it's on my bed.  I love the teal and green colors.

One of the APQS ladies told us in a class that that little bit of tension issue should work out in the wash. I think some of us were dubious but she insisted it's really no big deal! SO, maybe it will, er, all come out in the wash!?! I hope so because a recent quilt I worked on did the same thing--in this case I think it was due to inferior (thin/cheap!) fabric because when I went to do the next quilt, the tension was just fine.

Beautiful colors. I think washing it will help hide some of the tensions issues.

That is a beautiful quilt! I love the cool, calming colors. I hope everyone is right about the tension issues being okay after washing. I would be disappointed about that, too.

The colors are so pretty! I love how this turned out although I wish you had included a photo of the finished quilt. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

I love your quilt. I'm so sorry the longarmer did not correct their tension issues. I hope they've offered to make it right.

What a lovely finish that is aptly named:). My longarm, Sophie, does what you’re showing sometimes and I’ve gotten to the point where I pretend not to see it. Let us know if it washes out.

I would be disappointed too regarding the tension and I hope it will "come out in the wash!" it is so pretty and am glad it is already put to use!

What a gorgeous mix of colors, and this pattern is very pretty. Neat border and binding, well done! Sorry about the quilting, but I hope everyone is right and that it will fade after washing, besides it's fairly discreet. Thank you for sharing your beautiful finshed quilt and linking up!

What a beautiful, soothing quilt. I do hope your tension issues wash out. I hate it when the tension just won't mesh.

This is a beautiful quilt. I love the colors. I hate it when long arm tension isn't playing nicely, but it wasn't too bad and you are able to use it. Have a great week. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.

I've saved that pattern. Your colorway is wonderful. Hope you can recover from the irritation of the tension problem.
